Jan D’Arcy is a strategic communications consultant who has built a reputation for achieving exceptional results with her clients. Throughout her career, Jan has uniquely combined the two worlds of science/technology and performance arts. While she was a consultant to NASA over a ten-year period on technology-transfer from the space station, she also guest-starred on Outer Limits and The X-Files. Formerly fearful clients report their “confidence has gone through the roof,” whether making high-stakes presentations for million-dollar proposals, speaking at Radio City Music Hall, acing critical one-on-one job interviews or making a video for social media. Presentations Magazine named her “one of the top speech coaches” in the U.S. and she has been profiled in Who’s Who in America.
 

Communications Consultant

As an executive speech coach, Jan’s clients include world leaders, CEO’s, astronauts, admirals, politicians, life science executives, judges, and education and business personnel. She was a consultant to the Management Program at the University of Washington for five years and has been a guest instructor for the school’s MBA and Executive MBA programs. She has also taught at Pacific Lutheran University and University of Hawaii, as well as at Bellevue and Cascadia Community Colleges. She has produced, created, and delivered video conferences on speaking effectively to thousands in high tech audiences. Jan has also served as a collaborator, problem-solver, research analyst, facilitator of large-scale events and developed strategic communications on sensitive security topics.


Acting Career

As an actress, Jan has worked with world-renowned directors and filmmakers including David Lynch, Gore Verbinski, and Frank Marshall. She flew 14,000 feet by helicopter up to a top of a mountain shooting the film Alive, starred as an ex-stripper in Better Off Dead, and was brutally murdered in Countdown. She had a recurring role in the Emmy-nominated TV series Twin Peaks. She has appeared in over 1000 radio and TV commercials, and her radio program, Communications Corner, was syndicated across the U.S. She has been a comedienne on stage opposite Shelly Berman, Tab Hunter, and Don Ameche. Jan has recorded radio mystery programs for Imagination Theater and is a digital character in Microsoft’s new X-Box game, Allan Wake. Jan uses practical, dynamic techniques from her extensive theatre, film, radio and television background to help her clients acquire stage presence and self-confidence. She is committed to helping clients discover their powerful core of authenticity and enjoy expressing their ideas in public.
